The heart of a bassline can never be put down on paper !

Here we are again ! This month I was very busy with working, and in June I was preparing myself for my exams. But as you can see, I’m back. In the meantime I’ve visited our Belgian free festival Rock Herk. Where I have seen and heard Mixhell, D.I.M., Autokratz, Hadouken and Feadz. Especially these last two persons amazed me. Feadz already convinced me of his skills during other festivals, but Hadouken blew me literally away. The day after his performance my ears still didn’t recover of their bassline.

In August I’ll be attending Pukkelpop (3 days long!). These are some names i surely wanna hear: Busy P, Crookers (already heard on pp 2008), La Riots (I missed them everywhere), The Subs, Booka Shade (saw them already on PP), Dr. Lektroluv (a new tracklist for the festivals, I’m curious what he’s going to drop on the turntables), Sound of Stereo (missed them on Rock Herk), Vitalic (first time on PP, I think!), MSTRKRFT (*drewl*), Birdy Nam Nam (I’ve heard they were really good during Polsslag), The Count & Sinden, Fake Blood, Partyharders Squad (missed their good performance on Rock Herk), Congorock, Tocadisco (loved his set one year ago), Martin Solveig (not a real fan of him on festivals, but who knows), The Glimmers, Shadow Dancer (really excited to hear em), Nid & Sancy (from punk till electro, what an evolution), Don Rimini, Yuksek, Merdan Taplak, Aeroplane, Waxdolls, Kissy Sell Out, and some others like 50Cent and his bling bling.

And last but not least, I’ve made a lil mix for you guys. Duration approx. 45 minutes.

Don’t mind the last song, i just screwed that one. But I like the tune so much I’ve not cut it.

Lösifeldt – July Mixtape

Our first Mixtape under a new name : Lösifeldt lives !

Recently we have been urged to change our dj-pseudonym, because we found our original name a bit ordinary. So we have been thinking and thinking, now we’ve come up with an even better on: Lösifeldt. It sounds a bit Swedish but I can assure you we’re still Belgians in our heart ! The genre of music we’re playing didn’t change as you can notice in our last mixtape.
So this is our official first mixtape under the name : Lösifeldt.
I really recommend you to download it and listen to it, because it’s one of the best mixes we’ve recorded by now.

Music in the soul can be heard by the universe.

Here we are again ! After a long break, I obliged myself to show some new material. Firstly, I have investigated some new functions here on WordPress. Because many elements have changed in the interface. Secondly, new producers and new dj’s draw my attention. The next couple of posts will contain (of course) some livesets but also some new  or even old tracks. I’m still questioning myself if i would upload the real mp3 files or just some youtube evidence. But I will decide on this matter later on.

As a sign of life in these past busy days, well at the moment my exams are finished and now i have to re-establish my social life :p However, yesterday I had the time to make a lil mix for you all.

Me Loves Techno (2008)

Of course we coudn’t miss the event of the year: I love Techno 2008. We stayed there from 10 pm till 5 am and this is our point of view ! Crookers played one hell of an expected set, with all songs you could guess, but the crowd was hot so. Surkin played in a kind of chill out room and was one of the better sets of the night. Bloody Beetroos was also pretty good, extremely hard beats. Most strange thing of the night was Dusty Kid, or he drank too much or he was too darn drugged. It seemed like he was falling in a sleep, the other moment he is headbanging like an hyperactive child. Strangest thing, 20 minutes before his set ended, he just went off of the stage (probably sick ?). Then he came back and started one hell of a track :p
We’ve also seen Justice, surprising start with some housy tracks. Later on the regular tracks that  Justice plays were bringing the beats in. Last but not least, best set of the evening: Dj Mehdi. Nice tracks, some known other unknown. He also had one crazy crewmember that was costantly shaking and jumping on the decks or in front of the stage (funny guy). You’ll probably see him in the reports on JimTV and others. Still wondering who he was. We also saw Busy P but nothing special to hear there.
If you’ve read this you can see that we missed dj’s like Booka Shade, Boys Noize, Crookers and so on. This was because we’ve already seen them once or even two, three times. We wanted some change (Obama-style).

Drunk fothermucker !? Me knows you.?

With I Love Techno on the agenda, we’re keeping the spirit alive. I’ve alot of work these days for school, 2nd year at University now. Moreover we bought ourselves a new dj-set (2 reloop cd-players and a reloop mixer). Quite nice stuff and it should be for that amount of money. I’m also throwing my own party (with some friends) in December, so people who live in Leuven stay tuned. Maybe i’ll mention the flyer in a couple of posts. Dunno if i already mentioned this but a couple of months ago, I really f*cked my knee up in a soccer game, was out for 3 months. And after my reappearance on the field some weeks ago, I already assured myself of a new injury (hamstrings). Bummer but well live goes on and the parties too ^^

Well here we are again. Got some information about some stuff. Some maybe notice we also have a myspace page @ www.myspace.com/geron1mo. People who read this blog quite often don’t be scared to add us. Just make it clear you guys know us via this blog I never have the chance to know the people who read this and i think that’s a shame. I also often don’t know what i can improve about this blog, maybe that’s why i sometimes lose courage to keep on posting. So you can always leave a comment here and let me know what or which things you wanna see changed.

If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

Well I’ve been to Pukkelpop again (last day), saw alot of bands/dj’s even in one day. MGMT (sucky), Bloc Party (boring if you were in the background, pretty good if you were in the first ten lines of the fans), Tocadisco, Crookers (freaky good), Bloody Beetroots (crazy), Goldfox (not that bad), Etienne De Crecy (again very good live), Dr. Lektroluv, Soulwax, 2 Many Dj’s, Hermanos Inglesos.

Personally Pukkelpop should make all the structures bigger, Boiler Room was already more than filled at 2-3pm. Same for Dance Hall. We had too leave during the set of Crookers because it was gettin’ so hot, people were fainting.

Well i should be posting stuff of other people. But we’ve made a new mix, recorded with uber good prog traktor. Enjoy it ! I was influenced at the time by the weather. So you can clearly hear some summer flavoured tunes in it. Like always i’m not ashamed to use some older tunes. Nowadays new tracks are all similar except a selected group of tracks. But well it’s all for the good cause i presume.

Paris was in jail ! Jeez lucky criminals

After quite a time of absense. I’m back, my exams will start over 4 weeks. I’m hoping that in the summer vacation enough spare time will make me posting here more frequently. We’ll see ! In the meanwhile i went to Polsslag in Hasselt where I’ve seen Erol Alkan, Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT (amazin’), Boys Noize, Cassius & Zdar-guy (forgot his alias), Alter Ego (sucked), and so on. Went to a local party a week ago with Maxim Lany & The Subs, very nice party to end this year. 
Concerning the festivals i’m a lil bit dissapointed. Because if i flunk too much exams i’ll have exams again in august. So that means almost no party’ing in august. Maybe one day pukkelpop (hopefully) because the names are ridiculous (Bloody beetroots, Sinden & Count, Headman, and much more). Rock Herk is like always free again, and i’m certainly attending (Cajuan, 4T4, South Central,..).

Well why i post ? Obviously because i have some really nice sets to share. The best first !
